The second edition of the "Transylvanian International Piano Competition" will take place between the 9th and 15th of July 2018 in Brasov, Romania. Following the success of last year’s event, we want to continue our endeavor to promote young artists. The 2018 installment of TIPNOC will serve the same purpose as last year’s – to encourage and support the new generation of concert pianists from around the world, never forgetting the motto „Be Yourself!”
The most important trait of a pianist is to let his feelings and thoughts run freely, so that his artistic identity will reveal itself in front of the audience, thus creating a connection between the musician and the listeners. With our piano competition, we are looking for young artists who have something to communicate with the world through their music. We will support them at the beginning of their careers by offering concert opportunities, insightful advice and by connecting them with preeminent figures of Europe’s classical music scene.
Brasov’s cultural offer becomes richer with every day, it is more diverse than ever, and thus in tandem with the cultural trends of Europe. Therefore, it is rapidly becoming one of the most remarkable places in the Old Continent, attracting tourists from all around the world. This context is the right setting to turn the Transylvanian International Piano Competition into a part of the cultural identity of Brasov and Romania and a landmark on the musical and cultural map of the world.
This can be reached only by organizing a competition where ethics, fairness and the merits of the musicians are the core values and the competitors are placed on the top of the priorities list. These attributes of the event were observed by the competitors during the first edition of the competition and we will gladly continue this year on the same path.
